Aim/Objective/Mission : Bhumi was not established in order to avail of government grants and become its spokesman while ignoring the misery beneath the beautiful surface. The salient aims of Bhumi's role in social life are quite different. Bhumi is committed to giving voice to the nation's discontent, getting justice to the sufferers and above all awakening the sleeping soul of this nation. The features that distinguish Bhumi from other organizations are its objectives. Bhumi does not aim at the conventional goals of non-government organizations but at giving birth to a social movement. Making society capable of sensitivity towards others and not just mutual dependence. Giving birth to a questioning mind rather than allowing traditions to suffocate inquiry. Revitalizing culture so that it is not just monotonous social behavior but an ever flowing process enriching life. Making sure that emerging social consciousness does not get imprisoned in caste but grows deeper into a Vision of oneness with all. Motivating people to work for universal good rather than just personal gains. Making moral values just and impartial bases of social practice instead of being mere symbols of refined thinking. Transforming education into a means for developing human talent and potential rather than being solely oriented towards employment. Creating a climate where the faith of the youth is based on scientific discernment giving them courage to wrestle with the inertia of their times. |
